4th degree black belt Octavio “Ratinho” Couto happens to be passing through St. Louis on his way to conduct a seminar tour in Europe. So we can’t pass up the opportunity to learn from him while he’s in our back yard. The depth of his BJJ knowledge is amazing and you don’t want to miss this visit.

Octavio Couto, also known as “Ratinho”, is a highly regarded grappling coach and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Romero Cavalcanti. Ratinho was one of the founders of the Brasa Jiu Jitsu Academy, he has been responsible for the growth of fighters such as Fernando Terere, the Vieira brothers, Felipe Costa amongst many others.

Nickname: “Ratinho” means little mouse or mousy. The name is usually used to describe someone with certain distinct facial features
